Global Entry Program

Here’s some good news for a select group of travelers. If you happen to be a “low risk” international traveler you can get through customs a lot quicker.

Starting this week, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency will begin offering the “Global Entry” program at Denver International Airport. Currently available in 24 airports across the country, the program will expand into four more airports this month: Minneapolis (March 5), Charlotte (March 12), Denver (March 19) and Phoenix (March 26).

Here is how the program works:

  • The cost is $100 for a 5-year membership.
  • The program is intended for frequent international travelers, but there is no minimum number of trips to qualify.
  • There is a required background screening and interview.
  • Biometric information is used to identify you as you (retina scan, fingerprints, etc.).
  • Travelers may then use a special “Global Entry” automated kiosk to get through Customs at participating airports.
