New Camp in Botswana

June 25, 2012  By: Gretchen

We are excited to share with you that the brand new Selinda Explorers Campopens August 15, 2012 in Botswana’s Selinda Reserve.

With just four tents Selinda Explorers Camp, located on the banks of the Selinda Spillway, will be a new concept for Botswana.  It’s an authentic, exclusive-use camp and is perfect for small groups and families, or for couples or single travellers wanting total exclusivity.  Activities will concentrate on getting back to nature with guided walking and canoeing being a focus.  There are also day and night game drives available exploring the eastern reaches of the Selinda Reserve with its extensive network of tracks.  The camp is ecologically-sensitive with 100% solar power, grey water treatment, and bore-hole water for drinking.

In December, when Selinda Explorers camp is closed for bookings it will host an annual two week photo-camp for 20 children from nearby villages to be guided and taught by Great Plains and National Geographic staff on all things to do with the value of wildlife in their communities. These children are our future and the revenues from Selinda Explorers Camp help to fund social and conservation projects in Botswana.

Sound like somewhere you’d like to visit?  We’re taking bookings now.  Call us to reserve your time in this special place.
