Africa Adventure Consultants clients the Wilsons visited Kenya for a family safari adventure. Upon their return, they shared a few special photos with us, and the blog with their stories proved so popular, we’re rerunning it. One of the best parts of our work is hearing safari stories and seeing photos and videos from returning clients, and we in turn like to share them with you so that you can enjoy a little armchair travel along with us.
13-year-old Kasey Wilson had the exciting privilege of feeding an orphaned rhino near Lewa Downs, Kenya during their visit. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it works to conserve both wildlife and its habitat through the protection and management of species, by supporting community conservation and development programs, and also educating its neighbors about the value of wildlife.
The Wilsons visited a Maasai village near Little Governors’ Camp on their Kenya Masai Mara safari. A visit to Kenya really isn’t complete without some kind of cultural experience, and we encourage all of our clients to make something like this a part of their safari. This area of the Masai Mara is not only well seated to access local culture, it is teeming with wildlife! We often bring you game reports on our blog from the Governors’ family of camps. We are always excited to hear the latest happenings in their very game-rich neck of the woods.
The lion pictured here passed so close to the Wilsons in the game drive vehicle that Jim could have scratched her back–but he didn’t! She was part of a hunting party that had their eyes on some zebra.
Our passion for Africa began with a dream of living on the continent – a dream realized. We explored parks, rivers, mountains and villages, learned about the flora and fauna, fell in love with everything, and came away wanting to share our passion for a remarkable continent. Africa Adventure Consultants was born of the desire to give more people the chance to experience Africa’s wonders. Let us guide you into the wilderness.
