Mombo Camp, Botswana’s Finest
- Arguably the best big game viewing in all of Africa
- Bountiful hunting ground for large prides of lion and star-struck leopard
- A sumptuous and luxurious camp in the midst of the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Mombo Concession is known as the “place of plenty”, highlighted by the massive concentrations of plains game and predators that can be seen. These include all the big cats, of which lion sightings are frequent. You can also have the chance to see leopard and cheetah, spotted hyena, large herds of buffalo, elephant, white rhino, giraffe, blue wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra and much more. Birdlife is prolific around Mombo with African jacana, pygmy-geese, Goliath heron and migrant waders in summer being particularly common.
Activities available during a stay at Mombo Camp include traditional game drives as well as visits to a nearby hide to view animals and to enjoy the spectacular Okavango bird life. Additionally, guests often have the chance to observe game from the camp’s decks, and can even track leopard with their guide.
While in camp, guests can enjoy massage treatments in the privacy of their own deck, keep fit with a workout in the open air gym, or cool off in the pool. Mealtimes are filled with sumptuous and creative meals from the culinary team, sometimes enjoyed in the bush or in a boma under the stars.
