9-day Flying Safari to Kenya’s Remote Parks and Reserves
With the Kenya Unforgettable Safari, explore three of Kenya’s most famous and prolific wildlife areas while staying at some of the country’s most exclusive and unique accommodations—a combination that truly will be unforgettable! Highlights of this flying safari include a visit to Nairobi, the elephants and Kilimanjaro views in Amboseli, the unique Northern species—Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich – and the impressive Masai Mara. While in the Samburu National Reserve, you can track black rhino on foot with an expert guide and ranger. This exciting opportunity allows you to participate in one of the most advanced conservation projects in Kenya as locals work to protect this critically endangered species in this 133,000-acre conservancy. During your stay you can also visit the recently opened Reteti Elephant Sanctuary which provides protection for orphaned and abandoned elephant calves, often put at risk due to poaching. Visiting the Sanctuary helps their goal of re-releasing the elephants back into the nearby wild herds.

DAY 1 – NAIROBI: Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met at the airport and transferred to The Emakoko. Overnight here.
The Emakoko is a family-owned and run lodge artfully built into the side of a valley on the Mbagathi River, which borders the Nairobi National Park. There are five rooms on the same level as the main areas and a further five rooms with the most spectacular views positioned on top of the cliff, overlooking the valley.
DAYS 2 & 3 – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK: Transfer to Wilson Aiport and fly to Amboseli National Park. Upon arrival, transfer to Satao Elerai Camp. Enjoy game drives and bush walks, all with unrivaled views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is, of course, famous for its huge elephant herds. Spend two nights at Satao Elerai Camp. (B, L, D, Dr)
Satao Elerai Camp looks down onto the Amboseli National Park in one direction and up to Mt Kilimanjaro in the other direction, giving you the best location of any camp in Amboseli. The camp has 12 luxury mountain facing tents, and 5 large luxurious lodge style suites. The facilities are supplied with hot running water provided by eco-friendly solar units.
DAYS 4 & 5 – SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE: After breakfast, fly via Nairobi to the Samburu airstrip, where you will be met and transferred to Saruni Samburu, game viewing en route. You will have a second full day to explore Samburu on twice-daily game activities. The reserve is enriched with extraordinary wildlife, including the northern species such as Grevy’s zebra, the Somali ostrich, generuk, reticulated giraffe, leopards, plenty of lion and herds of elephants. Meals and overnights Saruni Samburu. (B, L, D, Dr)
Saruni Samburu is just north of Samburu National Reserve, in Kenya’s wild north. Surrounded by 234,750 acres of private wildlife conservancy, and perched on top of a spectacular viewpoint, its four large rooms and swimming pool overlook a breathtaking vast landscape. Game drives include Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs National Reserve and Kalama Conservancy. Here you will enjoy a new dimension of this rightfully popular region: the feeling of exclusivity, and a high level of comfort and tailor-made service.
DAYS 6, 7, & 8 – MASAI MARA: After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Saruni Mara, game driving en route. During certain months of the year, the Masai Mara is home to the wildebeest migration. Spend two more full days in the Mara, where throughout the year, wildlife is plentiful. Activities include game drives, walking safaris and bush dinners. Meals and overnights Saruni Masai Mara. (B, L, D, Dr)
Saruni is set in a private conservation area close to the Masai Mara Reserve. With only six cottages, it is set in a remote valley in the heart of the most exciting wilderness of Kenya. Saruni offers a new concept of safari: a real African adventure experienced in harmony with Masai warriors while offering high standards of comfort. Each cottage has hot and cold running water, polished wooden floors and large bathrooms with canvas fronts that can be opened to offer you an amazing “shower with a view”. Décor is unique to each cottage and from the large verandas one can watch the wildlife at the nearby waterhole.
DAY 9 – DEPART: Depart the Masai Mara and return by air to Nairobi. A car and driver is at your disposal for the afternoon before your evening airport transfer and onward flights. (B)
