NAMIBIA DIVERSE GROUP
10-Day Group Safari to Namibia’s Top Destinations
Visit Namibia’s most special wild places in an adventurous and affordable way. On the value-priced tour, you’ll see Namibia’s people and culture, dramatic landscapes, desert wildlife, jagged mountains, endless skies, and so-called ‘barren’ deserts. On this journey there is also an excellent opportunity to find the largest mammals surviving here – the desert-adapted black rhino and elephant. Acommodations are in moderate tented camps in exclusive reserves. Activities include game drives, walks, dune bashing, viewing ancient rock paintings and tracking desert-adapted elephants.
DAYS 3 & 4 – SWAKOPMUND: After breakfast, drive through the snaking roads of the Kuiseb Canyon and out onto the expansive gravel plains before arriving in Walvis Bay and then finally up the skeleton coast into the quaint town of Swakopmund (approximate driving time: 5-6 hours). Enjoy two days to explore the fascinating sites and activities in this colonial town set between the dunes and the cold Atlantic Ocean. A private “Dolphin and Seal” catamaran cruise from Walvis Bay (weather permitting) provides a wonderful opportunity to explore this beautiful bay and coastline. Overnights Hansa Hotel. (B, L, D*) *All meals included except dinner on your second night in Swakopmund.
DAY 5, 6, & 7 – DAMARALAND: Departing early, you’ll travel east to Damaraland and the Palmwag concession (approximate driving time: 8 hours). Here, on the concession and in the surrounding areas, the desert-adapted elephants and elusive black rhino can be found. Enjoy activities such as nature walks, mountain biking, tracking and game drives focused on everything from birds to insects, medicinal uses of plants and wildlife. Your stay will also include a visit to Twyfelfontein, where you’ll take a guided walk with local Damara guides to view the San petroglyphs – prehistoric rock etchings, strewn over the rock face. Overnights Damaraland Adventurer Camp. (B, L, D, Dr)
DAYS 8 & 9 – ONGAVA/ETOSHA: After breakfast, you’ll drive to Etosha, where you will be met and transferred to Ongava Tented Camp in the Ongava Private Reserve, bordering Etosha National Park (approximate diving time: 5 hours). Spend two days enjoying a variety of activities, from game walks to game drives and visits to hides both on the property and in the famous Etosha National Park. Overnights Ongava Tented Camp. (B, L, D, Dr)
DAY 10 – ETOSHA/WINDHOEK: After breakfast, drive to Windhoek, arriving at approximately 1:00pm. On the way, you’ll enjoy a scenic lunch overlooking the view of the plains nearby. (B, L)
NOTE: It is recommended that you arrive one night before the tour starts in Windhoek – hotel and airport transfers can be arranged at an additional cost.
