July Photography Event

Leopard, Serengeti National Park, TanzaniaAfrica Adventure Consultants has partnered with travel photographer Blaine Harrington to showcase some of his best travel photography at The Wildlife Experience July 9, 2014. The presentation will serve to launch a new exhibit, “Capturing the Wild”, which features some of Harrington’s best photographs from Africa.

The presentation begins at 7 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the launch ofhis new exhibit and a welcome reception. The event is sponsored by Africa Adventure Consultants and Mile High Photography Club and is open to the public, but space is limited, so please RSVP ahead of time to guarantee seating.

During the presentation, Harrington will show and discuss images from all over the world including people, landscape, cityscape, wildlife and action shots. Harrington will share anecdotes about the “stories behind the photos”, how they were made, what was happening, and what makes every photo/experience different and interesting. Harrington’s exhibit, “Capturing the Wild,” will run July 9 – September 14, 2014,The Wildlife Experience will share this important exhibit as part of their educational program, designed to inform the public, though art, about Africa’s disappearing wildlife, eco-systems, and cultures.

Baby Elephants, African Elephant herd, Camp Jabulani, Kapama Private Game Reserve, near Kruger National Park, South AfricaBlaine Harrington III has traveled the world working for publications such as; National Geographic Adventure, National Geographic Traveler, Forbes, Newsweek, New York Times magazine, Outside, Popular Photography, Smithsonian, Time, and Travel + Leisure. In 2005 and 2006, The Society of American Travel Writers (SATW)named Harrington,” Travel Photographer of the Year”. SATW additionally awarded him the Silver Portfolio in 2003, 2010 and 2011; Bronze Portfolio in 2007 and 2013 (a record seven top three finishes in six of the last ten years).

Additionally, Harrington has teamed up with Africa Adventure Consultants, (recent recipient of National Geographic Traveler’s 2014 “50 Tours of a Lifetime.”) to lead two photographer’s safaris in 2015. The Botswana Photographer’s Safari runs March 1-11, 2015 and includes visits to the famed Okavango Delta and Nxai Pans. The Tanzania Photographer’s Safari run March 16-25, 2015 and includes visits to the famed Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park.
