If you are interested in learning more about Africa and conservation, or looking for ways to get involved in conservation and education efforts, October is the month for you! There are several exciting opportunities to make a difference next month.
Jane Goodall Presentation
We have heard Jane Goodall speak before and are extremely excited to hear she will be back in Colorado next month! The pioneering primatologist and conservationist will give the 50th annual George Gamow Memorial Lecture on Oct. 1, 2015, 7:30 p.m., at Macky Auditorium on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. Tickets are available beginning September 10th at 10am, and are free when ordered through the Macky Auditiorim website. Click here for information & to order tickets to the Colorado event, or visit Jane’s website to see her other speaking dates, including two upcoming events in California.
Global March for Elephants and Rhinos
Almost everyone is aware that world-wide elephant and rhino populations are under extreme threat due to poaching. Without immediate and concerted action around the world, within our lifetime we will lose these majestic creatures forever. On October 3 and 4, people throughout the world will march with one voice stating that this cannot happen. In over 40 cities in the United States alone, people will unite in solidarity and support for preservation efforts across the globe. Visit the Global March website for information about a march in a city near you.
Art and Soul Gala Event
AfricAid is an amazing nonprofit based in Denver and Tanzania that supports girls’ education in Africa, in order to provide young women with the opportunity to transform their own lives and the futures of their communities. We at Africa Adventure Consultants have been long-time supporters of this wonderful organization. On October 3, 2015, AfricAid is hosting their annual Art and Soul gala at Denver’s Red Line Gallery. It’s an evening filled with music, refreshments and inspiring stories of the successes of the wonderful young women supported by AfricAid’s work. We hope those local to Colorado can join us for this truly uplifting event. More information can be found here.
