Traveler’s Corner – The Best of East Africa

August 13, 2019  By: Gretchen

The Albersheim family recently took their second safari with Africa Adventure Consultants. Their most recent adventure took them to East Africa where they visited mountain gorillas in Rwanda, witnessed the fantastic wildlife in Kenya and Tanzania’s Serengeti ecosystem and saw some pretty spectacular wildlife in Nairobi National Park. All of this in celebration of their 20th wedding anniversary!

Some of the highlights, favorites and tips they shared from their travels…

Couple gorilla trekking in Rwanda

Special Occasion

“We were fortunate to celebrate our 20th anniversary in the Masai Mara, where we were treated to a Maasai blessing from an elder in a traditional ceremony. It was truly an unforgettable experience! … I can’t emphasize enough how special this was for us.”

Accommodation

“We stayed at so many unique places that it is difficult to name our favorite. The Ngorongoro Crater Lodge was probably the most unique and the people were especially friendly. We returned in the afternoon from our touring to find a drawn bubble bath with rose petals!”

People

“Be open minded and take the time to get to know the people you meet. That is one of the most enjoyable parts of being in Africa”

Working With Experts to Plan Their Safari

“We were very happy with AAC. We planned this trip with another couple, and AAC did a fantastic job with all of our requests and changes. I am really impressed with how flexible AAC is and really allowed us to do everything we wanted. I especially like being met and escorted every step of the way, from being met as we got off the plane, to them helping us with visas. We never had to worry about anything. Thank you so much for making this such a wonderful trip!!”

One Last Surprise!

“On our last day, we went to Nairobi National Park for a few hours before we went to the airport. We caught the tail end of a giraffe giving birth and watched as the baby took its first steps. It was amazing!”
