Angie Voigt comes from a family of globe trotters. Born and bred in South Africa, her brother is based in Durban, South Africa; her father is in Manila, Philippines; her mother is in Thailand; and her fiance is from Australia. Wanderlust is in her blood! Angie has lived in 5 different countries, but South Africa will always hold the top spot in her heart.

Angie works different hours than our other Journey Specialists, so you can now reach a travel expert at Africa Adventure Consultants even more easily! You can reach a Journey Specialist on Sundays from 2 pm – 10 pm MT, as well as Monday through Friday from 8 am – 10 pm MT.

Angie’s background in social work was the foundation for her love of working with people. Her 3 months working in a remote village in India on community development programs with an indigenous community reinforced the desire for a career spent interacting with and helping people. Her volunteer work did not stop there, however – she also volunteered in Indonesia for an organization protecting orphan orangutans.

There is nothing that excites Angie more than sharing her passion for Africa with others and designing trips of a lifetime for our guests. She has been creating customized safaris for more than six years. Whether a fun-for-all family adventure, multi-generational trips, romantic honeymoons, yoga safaris, cultural immersion experiences, solo soul trips, active safaris for the adrenaline junkies- you name it, Angie has planned it!

If you’re planning your trip with Angie, you might ask her about her favorite South African wines, or for a book recommendation for your trip. She’ll be sure to share some gems that will enhance your experience.

Angie’s Favorite Wow Experiences on Safari

“Liuwa Plains, Zambia at King Lewanika Lodge: Ending a day of productive safari viewing with a G&T in hand on the deck of my suite. 600 feet from me a lion strolled past silhouetted by a glowing full moon as the backdrop.”

“My fiance’s reaction to his first wild elephant sighting when he joined me on his first safari. We were in Zimbabwe on a sunset cruise – watching the most exquisite African sunset as an elephant waded through the water of the Zambezi River in front of us. The greatest happiness for me is sharing my passion for Africa with others!”

The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. ― Christopher McCandless
