Easily the most remote camp in Namibia and one of the most remote in all of southern Africa, Serra Cafema also provides everything you expect in the way of creature comforts after a day on safari. Located on the banks of the rushing Kunene River, guests fall to sleep at night to the sounds of the rapids. River-view decks also provide room for dining, relaxing by the pool and wildlife viewing from the comforts of camp. Inside the main lodge, a visit to the wine cellar is always in order.

What We Think…
If there’s a place in the world where you can feel out of this world, then Serra Cafema is it. Set along the Kunene River in northern Namibia in one of the most remote, desolate and beautiful parts of the world, Serra Cafema is truly special. I personally enjoy the visits to the Himba tribes and boating on the Kunene River. The quad bikes are really fun, too.

The 8 canvas and thatch chalets each feature a private bath. The entire camp was designed to fit in with its surroundings and create the feeling of having been there forever. The desert is never far, but it is the mountains that draw the eye.
Guests can meet and interact with the local Himba people. Boating and hiking are popular activities. Wildlife sited nearby includes crocodiles.
