Itinerary
Day 1 – Johannesburg/Mozambique: Fly from Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport to Vilanculos, Mozambique. On arrival, you will be met by a representative who will assist and transfer you to the helicopter for your flight to either lodge (included). On arrival check in and relax! Overnight at Benguerra Lodge (deluxe option) or Indigo Bay (luxury option). Three meals a day included in both options. Drinks also included at Indigo Bay.
Deluxe Option: The Benguerra Lodge offers an expansive lounge, bar and dining room – all with large wooden decks and indoor and outdoor seating areas, as well as a swimming pool and small spa. Some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the world is available off Benguerra’s shores with the surrounding coral reefs rich in sea life. Indulge yourself in countless hours of relaxation under coconut palms, delight in the diversity of birdlife, visit the freshwater lakes (with crocodiles!), sail in a traditional Dhow and search the seas for the legendary dugongs. You can choose to do as much, or as little, as you like. The Cabanas are built right on the edge of the beach and each offers a Queen-sized bed with mosquito net, large bathroom with bath, shower, and outdoor shower, overhead fan, private deck with jacuzzi/plunge pool and sun loungers, mini-bar, tea & coffee making facilities. The chefs are some of the finest in Mozambique. The menu is comprised mainly of freshly caught seafood. The flavors are an exotic, heady mix of African, Arabic, and Portuguese.
Luxury Option: Indigo Bay offers visitors the quintessential Indian Ocean island holiday as well as a gateway to the unspoiled beauty of the surrounding area. State-of-the-art facilities at the lodge include restaurants, bars, swimming pools, specialist dive pool, and an activity center, which coordinates a wide variety of water sports, as well as diving and fishing activities and a luxury spa. Each chalet and villa offers complete luxury, with air-conditioning, mosquito screens, sumptuous en-suite bathrooms, mini-bars, 24-hour power, satellite TV and telephone access. Bazaruto Island provides a diverse environment where you can stay active all day long with water sport such as water-skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, kayaking, windsurfing and Hobiecat sailing in the warm Indian Ocean. Dune boarding on the island’s high dunes is fantastic fun for the entire family while nature lovers will enjoy bird watching and exploring the fauna and flora around the island.
Days 2, 3, & 4 – Bazaruto Archipelago: Spend your days on the beach relaxing, enjoy a spa treatment, scuba dive or take one of the tours offered by the lodges (additional charges may apply). Overnights at Benguerra Lodge or Indigo Bay Resort.
Day 5 –Johannesburg/Depart: After breakfast transfer to the landing strip for your helicopter transfer to Vilanculos and your connecting flight to Johannesburg.
