VICTORIA FALLS HIGHLIGHTS ZAMBIA
3-Day Visit to Zambia to See the “Smoke that Thunders”
Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. At over 5,600 feet wide and dropping over 300 feet, it is the largest curtain of water in the world. Here you will have the chance to explore Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and Victoria Falls itself. Experience a wide range of activities – from cultural to adrenaline loaded – or just relax taking in the beautiful scenery. This is the perfect way to end or begin any safari in the region.
DAY 1 – LIVINGSTONE: Arrive Livingstone Airport, Zambia where you will be met and transferred by road to AVANI Victoria Falls Resort (formerly Zambezi Sun), The Royal Livingstone or Toka Leya.
Value: The Avani Victoria Falls Resort is surrounded by the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Wildlife Park and a short walk from the spectacular Victoria Falls. The hotel is Adobe styled, with an African twist. 212 comfortably appointed rooms. An atmosphere of warm hospitality can be felt throughout this family-friendly property. A highlight is the free access to the Falls and the scenic nature walks through the rainforests: guests can stroll through lush grounds admiring the majestic views, bathed in the spray. The activity centre offers numerous optional excursions on your own account. (B)(B)
Deluxe: The Royal Livingstone Hotel is located immediately upstream from the Victoria Falls, on the forested banks of the great Zambezi River in Zambia. All the rooms have private balconies or terraces with spectacular views of the Zambezi River. The luxurious rooms and suites are spread out along the river’s edge; each has air conditioning, satellite TV, electronic safe, hairdryer, mini-bar, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. The en-suite bathrooms have free standing Victorian baths and oversized showers. Victoria Falls is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel (or quick golf cart ride); you have unlimited free access to the Falls via the resort’s private entrance. Local guides and other activities on your own account. (B)
Luxury: Toka Leya is located right beside the Zambezi River, about 3 miles upstream from Victoria Falls. Accommodations are in 12 spacious safari-style tents. All the tents are raised on wooden decks. Each tent has a large deck out front which leads into an air-conditioned open-plan lounge area and bedroom. The bathroom is separate from the bedroom and has twin basins with two large mirrors, a separate toilet, and an indoor and outdoor shower. Activities include a river cruise on their boats, a game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a guided tour of the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls, a guided tour of Livingstone and Livingstone Museum and a visit to a nearby village plus local curio shops.
