Enjoy this classic small group safari which offers all the highlights of Northern Tanzania at a great value! On our Tanzania Group Safari, you’ll enjoy a visit to Tanzania’s famous wildlife areas including Tarangire, Serengeti, and Lake Manyara national parks, and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. In addition to seeing some of the greatest concentrations of wildlife on earth, you will also get to experience the colorful Maasai and their strong culture. The accommodations are a mix of lodges and permanent tented camps giving both a sense of adventure and comfort.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive/Arusha, Tanzania: Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your Tanzania driver-guide and transferred to Mt. Meru Game Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Tarangire National Park: Awake to early morning views of Mt. Meru. After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, the sixth largest national park in Tanzania and home to large herds of elephants. Enjoy a game drive through the park with a picnic lunch. Continue to Honeyguide Tarangire Camp and overnight here.

Days 3 & 4 – Serengeti National Park: Today, enjoy a long drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the best game park in the world – the Serengeti. Journey your way through the endless plains of this famous park with fantastic game viewing along the way. Arrive at your tented camp, located in the central Serengeti, in time for lunch under the acacia trees. Continue with an afternoon game drive in the park. Spend another full day exploring the Serengeti on game drives. Overnights at Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp.

Day 5 – Serengeti/Ngorongoro Highlands: Enjoy a full day driving through the Serengeti with a picnic lunch. Continue towards the Ngorongoro Highlands, passing through incredible scenery and Maasailand. Arrive at your lodge in time for dinner. Overnight at Acacia Farm Lodge.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater: After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world, and descend to the floor. This 100-square-mile caldera is home to more than 25,000 large mammals like lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, wildebeest and the rare black rhino. Return to your lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands for your evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Acacia Farm Lodge.

Day 7 – Lake Manyara/Arusha/Depart: After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, home to the world’s largest flamingo population and the elusive tree-climbing lions, and enjoy one last game drive in Tanzania. After a picnic lunch, continue to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for your departing flights. Add an optional dayroom at KIA Lodge to lounge by the pool and soak up views of Mt. Kilimanjaro before you depart (weather permitting – at an additional cost).
