Start Planning Your Tanzania Flying Safari

Day 1 – Arusha: On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met and driven to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Arusha Coffee Lodge is located in a working coffee plantation and has 30 wooden chalets with spacious, airy and modern interiors nestled amongst the surrounding gardens and coffee trees. Vibrant gardens, a spa, a collection of boutiques, a swimming pool and two restaurants await.

Days 2 & 3 – Tarangire National Park: After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephant herds and huge baobab trees. Overnight and meals at Tarangire Treetops, from where you can enjoy guided walking safaris, day and night game drives, a visit to an authentic Masai village, and sundowners in the bush.

Tarangire Treetops sits in a community wildlife area bordering Tarangire National Park. The elevated “treehouse” suites are perched high up with views over the adjacent baobab and marula trees, giving the camp an adventurous and exotic feel. Twenty suites, each with a private balcony, are lavishly furnished. Encasing an impressive baobab tree, the spacious and tranquil dining room, reception and lounge overlook the swimming pool and a waterhole that sees a steady flow of wild animal visitors. 

Day 4 – Ngorongoro Highlands: After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Manyara airstrip. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the Manor at Ngorongoro in time for lunch. Take the afternoon to enjoy activities such as a plantation coffee tour, horse riding, high tea or a massage. Dinner and overnight at the Manor at Ngorongoro, where you will spend two nights.

The Manor at Ngorongoro is a grand mansion that exudes old-world charm and is poised adjacent to the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The manor comprises 18 cottage suites, each with its own private entrance and adjoining private sun terrace. In-room amenities include an en suite bathroom with a rain shower, Wi-Fi, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. 

Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater: After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and spend the day exploring the famous Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic lunch. This 100-square-mile caldera is home to more than 20,000 large mammals like lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and the rare black rhino. Return to the highlands for dinner and overnight at the Manor at Ngorongoro.

Day 6 – Serengeti: After breakfast, transfer to local airstrip for your flight to Serengeti National Park. Have lunch at Serengeti Pioneer or Migration Camp before your afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at either Serengeti Pioneer Camp (Jan – May) or Serengeti Migration Camp (Jun – Dec).

Serengeti Pioneer Camp is located in the Southern Serengeti (within the Moru Kopjes area). There are 12 tented suites, including one family suite. All have en suite facilities, including a flushing toilet, vanity basin and showers and the tent interiors are designed to evoke the very best of an era long gone but certainly not forgotten. 

Serengeti Migration Camp is located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away. Hidden among the rocky outcrops, the camp is located at the starting point of the migration. Twenty luxurious elevated tents, each with spacious and richly furnished bedrooms, blend seamlessly into the environment. Each of the tents is surrounded by its own 360-degree veranda deck, which in turn creates your very own private sanctuary to enjoy the constant game sightings and the ever-present sounds of the bush. 

Day 7 – Serengeti: Enjoy your day in the world-famous Serengeti National Park with morning and afternoon game drives, sundowners in the bush and dinner under the stars. Overnight at either Serengeti Pioneer Camp or Serengeti Migration Camp.

Day 8 – Arusha/Depart: After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive en route to the local airstrip for your flight to Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge, where you will have a day room to freshen up and relax before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for your departing flight.
