Itinerary
Days 1 & 2 – Okavango Delta: Upon arrival in Maun and after you clear customs, you will be met and transferred by light aircraft to Kwetsani Camp in the Okavango Delta, arriving in time for dinner. Meals and overnights here. (B, L, D, Dr)
Kwetsani Camp consists of six furnished ‘tree-house’ chalets, each with its own en-suite bathroom, which is an open, airy accommodation of thatch, wood, glass, and canvas. The camp offers excellent land and water activities dependent on the annual flood levels of the Okavango Delta. Game drives, as well as breathtaking wildlife viewing by mokoro and boat are available.
Days 3 & 4 – Moremi Wildlife Reserve: After a morning activity and breakfast, fly by light aircraft to Chitabe Camp in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve. Enjoy two days of game drives and activities. Meals and overnights at Little Vumbura Camp. (B, L, D, Dr)
Little Vumbura’s six tented suites are connected to each other and the main lodge by wooden walkways, giving the entire property a storybook feel. Vumbura is one of the best places for viewing sable and wild dogs and the variety of local frogs is astounding as might be expected given all the water and wetlands in and near the camp. A pool and reading areas overlook the floodplains and a stargazing deck is perfect for an after-dinner drink under the night sky. Boat and Land Rover game viewing excursions are a staple of any stay here.
Days 5, 6, & 7 – Linyanti Wildlife Reserve: After a morning activity and breakfast, fly to Savuti Camp in the Savute Channel. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon activity. Enjoy two more days of game drives and activities. Meals and overnights at Savuti Camp. (B, L, D, Dr)
Savuti Camp is set on the productive Savute Channel – a refuge for a variety of wildlife and a fascinating natural phenomenon: When dry, it is a rich feeding ground and corridor between the mopane woodlands for both plains game and predators. When the waters flow, game congregates around it in numbers. Activities include day and night game drives, nature walks and boating (water levels permitting). The camp has seven canvas-and-thatch tents (including a family unit) and a main area which extends outwards on raised decks, facing the Savute Channel. A log-pile hide and a sunken hide provide unique settings to watch wildlife at the water’s edge. Two nearby Star Beds – Southern Cross and Orion – offer the experience of an exciting sleep-out under the stars.
Day 8 – Maun/Depart: After breakfast and a final glimpse of the wildlife reserve, you will fly by light aircraft to Maun Airport where you will take your connecting flight home. (B)
