Between the spectacular views swirling through mists around the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and its somewhat unexpected architecture, it is easy to believe that you have entered a realm of pure fantasy. Each stilted, handcrafted mud and thatch suite is adorned with graceful antiques. En suite bathrooms, with a centerpiece of fresh roses, feature huge showers and chandelier-lit bathtubs, while floor-to-ceiling windows ensure breathtaking views from everywhere. Personal butlers discreetly tend to guests’ every need, bringing tea in bed, stoking fireplaces and drawing luxurious baths. Each camp has its own guest sitting and dining areas and viewing decks.
Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater: After breakfast, explore the 3 million-year-old Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world and home to more than 20,000 animals. After lunch, continue exploring with a Maasai village visit and return in time for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. (B, L, D, Dr)
