3-Day Visit to Zambia to See the “Smoke that Thunders”

Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. At over 5,600 feet wide and dropping over 300 feet, it is the largest curtain of water in the world. Here you will have the chance to explore Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and Victoria Falls itself. Experience a wide range of activities – from cultural to adrenaline loaded – or just relax taking in the beautiful scenery. This is the perfect way to end or begin any safari in the region.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Livingstone: Arrive Livingstone Airport, Zambia where you will be met and transferred by road to Royal Chundu Zambezi River Lodge (luxury), Tongabezi Lodge (deluxe) or Chundukwa River Lodge (value). Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Luxury: Royal Chundu Zambezi River Lodge is situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, overlooking the majestic river and surrounding bushland. Spacious suites and lounging areas masterfully blend colonial elegance and African charm, offering 10 villas on the mainland on the banks of the Zambezi and 4 private suites on Katombora Island.

Deluxe: Tongabezi Lodge is a wonderful destination for romance and bespoke travel. The lodge has five houses and four river cottages individually styled and catered for two-to-five guests. In addition to Victoria Falls adventures, enjoy game drives, a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and visit a local school during your stay. Safari activities and a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River included. Victoria Falls activities at an additional cost.

Value: Chundukwa River Lodge is located on a horse ranch, set alongside the Zambezi River just 15 miles from Livingstone Town. Enjoy a farm-stay experience within a natural garden of beauty and diversity, unique accommodation, home-grown and healthy food – and the opportunity to relax, horse-ride or immerse yourself in a few or all of the bucket-list experiences that Livingstone and Victoria Falls have to offer.

Day 2 – Livingstone: Spend your day exploring Victoria Falls. After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of the Zambia side of Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or “the Smoke that Thunders.” Afterward, choose from other activities on offer such as a game drive or walk; canoeing or kayaking on the Zambezi River; touring a local village; or adventure activities such as white water rafting, bungee jumping or a helicopter flight over the Falls (some at additional fee). Work with your Journey Specialist to pre-plan what activities you’d like to include in your stay. Overnight at your selected accommodation.

Day 3 – Livingstone/Depart: After breakfast enjoy one more activity (optional) before you are transferred to Livingstone Airport for your onward flight.
