8-Day Botswana Safari in the Selinda Reserve and the Okavango Delta
Enjoy eight days of adventure in two of Botswana’s premier game viewing destinations on this deluxe flying safari. On Botswana Select you'll first stop is Selinda Explorers Camp in the Selinda Reserve, which is centered on the famous Selinda Spillway and offers superior game viewing and other activities such as walks and canoeing far away from the crowds. Second, visit Duba Plains in the famed Okavango Delta, one of the largest inland delta systems in the world. Here you can likely enjoy spectacular game viewing, including elephant, lion, zebra, leopard & giraffe. Enjoy daily game drives, water activities and guided wildlife walks from your camps.
Each of the four custom-designed, walk-in tents at Selinda Explorers Camp include en-suite flush loo and shower that are attached and enclosed, but under the stars. Hot/Cold water are provided by jug on demand. The double-vanity copper vanities and dressing make for spacious accommodation. Stylishly decorated with campaign-style furniture, decanters of cognac and Persian rugs, the décor pays homage to the roots of safari.
DAY 2 to 4 – SELINDA RESERVE: Enjoy three days of safari activities in the Selinda Reserve. The Selinda Reserve is centered on the famous Selinda Spillway, which flows through the concession from east to west linking the far reaches of the Okavango Delta in the south with the Linyanti systems in the east. DAY 5 – FLY OKAVANGO DELTA: After breakfast, game drive to the local airstrip for your light aircraft transfer to the Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is the largest inland delta system in the world and offers spectacular game viewing, including elephant, lion, zebra, leopard & giraffe. Diverse activities allow guests time on the water, on land and on foot. Arrive at camp for lunch and enjoy an afternoon safari activity. Overnight at Duba Plains Camp (B, L, D, Dr)
Each of the six traditional “Meru-Style” tents at Duba Plains Camp has a private verandah leading to large double doors, which enter the canvas-constructed tents. High ceilings with fans and large windows bring the outside in, while still affording ample privacy. A writing desk, comfortable lounge furniture and large beds with the finest linen draped in mosquito nets make for a romantic yet authentic space. The en-suite dressing area with a double basin vanity, indoor and outdoor showers and a flush toilet provide all the home comforts, with appropriate style and luxury. All hot water is available 24 hours a day and is solar heated.
DAY 6 & 7 – OKAVANGO DELTA: Enjoy two days of safari activities in the Okavango Delta. Activities include early morning and late afternoon/early evening 4×4 open vehicle game drives and boating when water levels permit. Overnight at Duba Plains Camp (B, L, D, Dr)
DAY 8 – DEPART: Enjoy your final morning on safari. You will be transferred to the local airstrip for your light aircraft transfer to Maun. Connect to your onward flight. (B)
